Google makes prompt-built games a subscription-linked publishing platform
A browser game-maker combines conversational creation, community discovery and paid access under Google’s control.
Google launched Playground, an experimental browser product that lets U.S. adults create and revise games through conversational prompts, then keep them private, share links or publish them to an Explore gallery. Player ratings and play activity determine what the gallery spotlights, while tiered creation access is tied to Google AI subscriptions; the planned Unity Spark integration remains in testing. That gives Google control over both low-cost game production and audience discovery, with subscription access providing an immediate route to monetisation.
