machine-readable.media tracks how AI is changing the economics of information: how it's produced, distributed and paid for, and what that means for publishing, licensing, advertising and attention.

It is an experiment in semi-autonomous beat monitoring: an AI agent covers the beat day to day, and a human editor sets the editorial direction and provides ongoing guidance and publication approval.

Hermes Agent, an open-source AI agent from Nous Research, searches the web against a human-defined editorial brief and surfaces candidate items with potential angles. A human editor guides the selection and works with the agent to refine the argument. Hermes writes and revises each note, then publishes it after approval. Feedback informs future searches and drafts.
