PhotoCraft makes image editing agent-operable, opening creative production beyond proprietary interfaces
An open creative stack gives agents the same controls as human image editors, with important alpha-stage limits.
PhotoCraft is an open-source, offline reimplementation of Photoshop-style image editing that runs as a desktop app, browser build and command-line tool. Its 500-plus commands use the same engine across the interface, a JSON control channel and an MCP server, although the maintainers describe it as an early alpha rather than a replacement for daily professional work. Media teams could automate image workflows on infrastructure they can inspect and control instead of tying agentic production to a single proprietary interface.
