Arc’s shutdown shifts browser customers toward Dia’s AI interface
A forced migration carries users’ saved browsing context into the company’s replacement browser.
The Browser Company will block new Arc accounts immediately, disable its mobile AI features on November 23 and make its desktop browser unusable on December 22. It is directing users to import passwords, history, extensions, tabs and profiles into Dia, where familiar browser features remain free and AI is optional. Moving the same users and browsing data into the replacement product gives Dia a stronger position to mediate how people discover and act on information.
