Scite turns AI research reads into a demand signal for scholarly publishing
Author- and paper-level retrieval data gives scholarly publishers a new, if partial, view of machine demand.
The beta Am I Cited by AI? service lets researchers search by author or DOI to see which papers Scite Assistant and Scite MCP have read, how often they were used and which works were cited. Its methodology says reports refresh daily and group activity by paper, author, week and requesting tool, but cover only traffic routed through Scite and reveal neither private prompts nor user identities. For scholarly publishers, that partial measurement can still expose machine demand and access gaps that support subscription, retrieval-licensing or metered-access decisions.
