Google opens connected Gmail and Photos data to AI-search ad targeting
Personal Intelligence can now feed connected private data into Search’s ad-personalization system.
Google’s revised privacy policy says Search may process data users connect from Gmail, Drive and Photos to personalize content, including ads, when they enable Personal Intelligence or similar features. Advertisers do not receive that data, sensitive categories remain excluded, and users can disconnect services or disable personalized recommendations. The change expands the information Google can monetize inside AI-mediated discovery, strengthening the same interface’s control over recommendations and advertiser demand.
