The Outer Web gives agents a curated route to human-authored pages, making its index a new discovery gatekeeper
A similarity graph for the independent web now pairs human browsing tools with a machine-facing protocol endpoint.
The Outer Web indexes pages it judges authentic, informative and mostly noncommercial, excluding AI-generated blogs and affiliate farms, then organizes them with search, tags, categories and full-page similarity. The site uses a local language model to add missing descriptions and tags and exposes an endpoint that requires the MCP protocol, providing a machine-facing route into the same selected corpus. That design gives independent publishers an alternative discovery channel for people and agents, but also makes one private curation policy a gatekeeper to visibility.
